Let’s take a moment to talk climate crisis, anti-discrimination and privacy…

If you have any questions about any of this, or would like to find out more, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Sustainability

There is no Planet B. We all need to take personal responsibility to reduce, re-use and recycle, while simultaneously challenging the global systems that reward waste. Professionally, that means that:

  • I embed principles of the circular economy in my practice, working as much as possible with environmentally sustainable materials, limiting travel miles of materials, designing out any surplus materials, and considering end of life for the objects I create.
  • I aim for my digital footprint to be energy conscious.
  • I partner only with organisations or individuals who share these values, and are working to achieve the same goals.
  • I create data-inspired objects that support reflection on and discussions around environmental sustainability and climate change.

Anti-discrimination

Systematic and structural discrimination exists within our society, which presents barriers to access for individuals based on a variety of intersectional characteristics. As a solo craft practitioner, I seek to identify and dismantle barriers to access and participation in the craft sector. I understand that achieving this requires radical anti-discrimination work, personally and professionally, and challenge myself to undertake action towards this. Professionally, this means that:

  • I work to create craft engagement opportunities and environments that are anti-discriminatory, accessible and welcoming, both as part of my own practice and through activism within craft organisations.
  • I partner only with organisations or individuals who share these values, and are working to achieve the same goals.
  • I create data-inspired objects that support reflection on and discussions around heritage and identity in the context of heritage and contemporary craft.

Privacy

I take your privacy seriously and comply with relevant legislation related to privacy of your data. In brief, this means that:

  • I only collect necessary information from you, with your consent, that I need to run my business.
  • I only share this information about you, with your consent, with third parties that help me run my business.
  • I don’t sell this information, unless I sell the business (which I don’t plan to – this creative practice dies with me!)

You can read all of the details around this in my Privacy Policy.
